CHRISTMAS IS 6 DAYS AWAY. I REPEAT. CHRISTMAS IS 6 DAYS AWAY.

I am ridiculously excited for Christmas this year, a lot more than usual, and so I thought I'd make a few treats courtesy of Zalfie and their new Christmas Treats video which you can watch here.

For a step by step tutorial on how to make these adorable festive treats, be sure to watch the video, these are just some pictures of how mine turned out! :)

Have any of you made any festive treats this year?

Top 5 Tuesdays | Winter Lips | prettylittlewriter

For this week's Top 5 Tuesdays, I thought I'd share with you my favourite winter lipsticks and what makes them my favourites :)

From left to right; Mac Velvet Teddy, Max Factor Colour Elixir in Rosewood, Mac Ruby Woo, Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Glastonberry & Mac Rebel.

1. Mac Velvet Teddy.
Purchased only recently, this lipstick has fast become one of my staple shades and maybe even my most favourite lipstick ever. Smooth application for a matte finish, leaving you with a gorgeous brown/nude shade. I have never been a fan of nude shades, however this one has won me over completely.

2. Max Factor Colour Elixir in Rosewood.
Bought simply for the name (Rosewood is the home of my favourite TV show, Pretty Little Liars), this is also a fairly nude shade, but with a hint of pink for added colour. Long lasting and a great finish after application, this lipstick could almost be a dupe for Mac Velvet Teddy.

3. Mac Rebel.
A gorgeous dark purple shade with a slight shimmer to it, this lipstick is my go to plum shade for winter. Not too dark for my pale skin, this shade is perfect for any winter make up look.

4. Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Glastonberry.
A very dark, matte purple, this shade only comes out when I'm feeling daring and brave. With it being so dark and only having pale skin, I am still unsure as to whether it suits me, however I have had compliments from others when wearing it, so I guess it kinda does!
Brilliant staying power and a lovely finish on the lips!

5. Mac Ruby Woo.
What is Christmas without a red lip? Any girl knows that red lips are the staple shade for the festive season, and what better shade than Mac's Ruby Woo? Amazing staying power and a gorgeous bright colour, this red lip is the one I always choose to wear.

Top 5 Tuesdays | Christmas Movies | prettylittlewriter

With all my Christmas gifts wrapped and ready to go, this Festive season really is in full force for me.
So for this week's top 5 Tuesdays, I thought I'd share with you my all time favourite Christmas movies!

1. How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

This film revolves around a grumpy old Grinch who lives up in the Mountains of Whoville, intent on destroying Christmas for the residents of Whoville.
This is my favourite Christmas film as it is suitable for all the family, with certain references only adults will understand yet won't affect children, and Jim Carrey as one of his funniest characters to date.

2. It's A Wonderful Life.

An old classic, filled with love and tender moments, this story is all about an angel who helps a compassionate but despairingly frustrated businessman by showing him what life would be like if he had never existed.
An amazing movie to watch with your loved ones, it really envelops the spirit of Christmas.

3. Home Alone.

A must have movie to watch every single year, this movie revolves around little Kevin McAllister who is left home alone when the rest of his family go on holiday for Christmas. He then encounters some dangerous thieves who are intent on robbing the house, but little do they know that they messed with the wrong kid!

4. Elf.

A feel good movie all about the boy Santa took in as an elf who grows up and wants to meet his real Father. Buddy goes to New York to find his Father, only to find out that not everyone believes in the spirit of Christmas.
One of Will Ferrell's best character performances, Elf is a must watch movie every Christmas!

5. Blackadder's Christmas Carol.

Technically not a movie, but a special Christmas episode of Blackadder, this episode see's Blackadder in the Dickensian Era as Ebenezer Scrooge. A twist on the classic A Christmas Carol, as Blackadder begins as a pleasant human, but after having visits from his ancestors and descendants turns into his original cruel and witty self.

What are your favourite Christmas movies? :)

Winter Mac Lipstick Purchases | prettylittlewriter

With the Black Friday sales comes every girls dream of getting discount on their favourite products. For me that just so happened to be Mac Lipsticks.
The official Mac website were unfortunately not doing any Black Friday bargains, however, Debenhams were.

Debenhams were also the only store I could find that still had the shade Velvet Teddy in stock, which is a shade I have been hoping to get for quite a while!

The second shade I opted for is New York Apple, a gorgeous red sparkly shade perfect for this time of year!

As you can see from the swatches, both are well pigmented, Velvet Teddy being a lovely nude matte shade and New York Apple a sparkly Frost shade.

I'm not sure which I love the most, as they are both so gorgeous and pretty!

Have any of you bought any new Mac shades this winter?

Review | Liz Earle Limited Edition Hot Cloth Cleanser | prettylittlewriter

As a little Christmas treat for myself this month I decided to purchase the Limited Edition Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser in Sweet Orange and Mint.

As a huge fan of the original Hot Cloth Cleanser, the sweet orange and mint fragrance intrigued me as I love any sweet scent, especially those that are of the citrus variety.

This product certainly didn't disappoint! As with the original hot cloth cleanser, it cleanses your skin well and leaves it feeling super soft and smooth and the citrus scent lingers on your skin so you also smell super fresh!

I would definitely recommend this product as a gift for someone, whether it be for a family member, friend or even yourself as a little treat.
I mean, who can deny a person of such an amazing product, just look at that gorgeous packaging!

You can purchase this item here, and with the product being limited edition I would purchase it very soon if you want it as it may have disappeared by Christmas!

Also, if you wish to know more about how the Hot Cloth Cleanser works, check out my previous blog post on the original Cleanser here.

Review | Yankee Candle Christmas Past Advent House | prettylittlewriter

Every year I always get a chocolate advent calendar, whether it be a cheap Poundland Disney Princess calendar, or a higher class Malteser calendar.

But this year I decided on something different, something I can enjoy a lot more than chocolate.

Burning candles is one of my favourite things, and Yankee Candle always seem to impress me with their huge variety of scents. So when I saw that they were bringing out a couple of Advent Calendars, I knew I had to get one.

This Christmas Past Advent House is quite possibly the cutest and most impressive advent calendar I've ever seen. It is incredibly festive and perfect for any candle lover like me.

With 23 windows containing 7 different festive scents, and the 24th containing a Christmas Eve Votive scent, it allows you to experience each different scent and see which one is your favourite.

The seven scents are;
Candy Cane Lane
  Christmas Garland
 Snowflake Cookie
Sugared Apple
 Christmas Cookie
 Christmas Memories
 Spiced Orange

The first scent I discovered on the 1st of December was Sugared Apple, and the only reason I know this is because of the colour, it is the only white tealight included. The scents are quite hard to figure out from smell alone.

Have any of you lovely people got an advent calendar you love?
