Lush Haul | prettylittlewriter

My Lush collection has been building up quite recently, I've become a sucker for ordering a few items here and there from the website, so I thought I'd share with you the items I recently purchased.

Pot of Gold Shower Jelly

Bunch of Carrots Bubble Bar

Honey Bee Bath Bomb

Brightside Bubble Bar

Golden Egg Bath Bomb and Melt

I realise that the colour scheme is very bright and summery, with lots of Orange and Yellow.
I've only used the Golden Egg and the Brightside Bubble Bar so far, but I love them, the scents are delicious, almost good enough to eat!

Have you made any recent Lush purchases? What are your favourite Lush products? :)

Mac Haul | prettylittlewriter

With the new Mac Cinderella collection selling out online the day it was released, and not having a Mac counter nearby, I was really gutted.

However, instead of crying about it (I did a little), I thought I'd purchase a few other items from Mac that are always available.

The items I bought are the Pro Palette Large Duo, Pro Palette Eye-shadow Insert, Eye-shadow in Antiqued for the Pro Palette, Cremeblend Blush in So Sweet, So Easy, Creme Sheen lipstick in Sweet and Sour and the Lip Pencil in Whirl.

Review | Lush Immaculate Eggception Bath Bomb | prettylittlewriter

I've had a particularly stressful week due to University deadlines and such, therefore I wanted to treat myself to a Lush bath, and so I thought I'd try out one of the new Easter products.

I decided upon the Immaculate Eggception Bath Bomb which promises a little surprise within!

Much like the Love Locket Bath Bomb around Valentine's Day, this bath bomb is larger than the standard Lush bath bombs, however, that is due to it containing a miniature bath bomb inside.

It can contain either a bunny rabbit or a chick, and mine contained a gorgeous little chick which I set aside for another bath time.

I dropped in the two halves of the bigger portion of the bath bomb, and the immediate effect was gorgeous! A thrilling fuchsia colour erupted creating swirly patterns and a lovely view.

It left my bath water a lovely pink shade, however I will say I didn't scrub my bath first so it did stain it a little.
The scent was also really nice, will vanilla extract, lemon oil and grapefruit oil, it is a really fresh and fruity scent.

You can purchase the Immaculate Eggception bath bomb, along with the other Easter products from Lush.co.uk

Have you tried the Immaculate Eggception bath bomb? If so what are your thoughts? And what are your favourite products out of the collection?

Fashion Wishlist | prettylittlewriter

I haven't posted a wishlist for some time now, so I thought I'd get back into it by showing you guys some of the fashion and clothing items I currently have on my wishlist!

From left to right; Crop Top - Topshop, Jeans - Topshop, T shirt - ASOS
The crop top being a gorgeous aztec print will be lovely for summer, and a girl can never have enough pairs of jeans, especially these awesome ripped ones! And the t shirt from ASOS I just found amusing, and would team it with the ripped jeans for a nice but casual look.

From left to right; Rain Mac - ASOS, T shirt - Topshop, Playsuit - ASOS
I have had my eye on this gorgeous yellow rain mac from ASOS for a while, I think it will be perfect for spring/summer for those rainy days. I added a simple plain striped top to my wishlist as I don't have many casual t shirts, and this one looks like pretty great quality. This playsuit from ASOS is only available from the petite range, and I think it is absolutely stunning!

From left to right; Top - Topshop, Pyjamas - Topshop, T shirt - ASOS
Another lovely striped t shirt from Topshop, however this has a little extra detail on it and would be great for festival wear. I'm sure a lot of you know how much I love Disney, therefore it should be no surprise that I have some Disney pyjamas on my wishlist! Topshop just do the most amazing pyjamas ever!
The t shirt from ASOS, again I found quite amusing, especially since I feel I get FOMO quite a lot!
River Island
And finally, not clothing, but the most stunning bag from River Island I have ever seen! I love the colour block pattern, especially with it being dark contrasting bright.
This bag is still available on the website, and I have been loving it for quite some time, therefore I will be purchasing it when pay day comes!

What's on your fashion wishlist this month?

World Book Day Novel Recommendation | prettylittlewriter

In honour of today being World Book Day here in the UK, I thought I'd post something a little different.

As a writer, and currently studying English Literature at University, it is no surprise that I am a huge fan of reading.
One particular series which jumps to mind when I think of my favourite novels is the Book of Eden series by Julie Kagawa.

I have always been into Vampire fiction, but this series just has something a little different to all the rest.

Synopsis for The Immortal Rules
Allison Sekemoto survives in the Fringe, the outermost circle of a walled-in city. By day, she and her crew scavenge for food. By night, any one of them could be eaten. Some days, all that drives Allie is her hatred of them—the vampires who keep humans as blood cattle. Until the night Allie herself dies and becomes one of the monsters.
Forced to flee her city, Allie must pass for human as she joins a ragged group of pilgrims seeking a legend—a place that might have a cure for the disease that killed off most of civilization and created the rabids, the bloodthirsty creatures who threaten human and vampire alike. And soon Allie will have to decide what and who is worth dying for… again.

The reason I enjoyed this series so much is as follows;
The main protagonist is a strong independent female
They live in a kind of Apocalyptic World
It reminds me of the Hunger Games
It contains a little bit of romance
The vampires are fairly traditional (no sparkles!)
It has Zombie Vampires

I really recommend this series to anyone who loves Vampire fiction, or even those who really loved the Hunger Games novels as it is a very similar format but with Vampires!
If you would like to purchase the series, you can find them on Amazon, Play.com, Waterstones and WH Smiths.

Have you read this series? If so what are your thoughts?
Or do you have a book recommendation you would like to share? Please leave a comment below :)

Lincoln Cathedral | prettylittlewriter

As some of you may know (if you're familiar with me or my blog), I am currently studying at Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln. I am in my third and final year of my English Literature degree (SCARY STUFF!) and recently visited Lincoln Cathedral as part of my course.

Lincoln Cathedral has been around since the Medieval Era, and as we are currently studying Medieval Literature, our Tutor thought it could be fun and help us with our studies to visit!

Here are a few pictures of the Cathedral that I took, we even got to go on the roof!

In memory of Robert Grosseteste, the Founder of Bishop Grosseteste University

HOGWARTS

OMG HOGWARTS

It was such a fun afternoon with my University friends, I wish we got to have outings like this a lot more!
I hope you enjoyed this little look into my life, leave any comments you have below :)
