Yankee Candle Halloween Accessories | prettylittlewriter

Candles are my all time favourite thing when it comes to the Autumn and Winter months. So I was incredibly excited to see what Yankee Candle were releasing for their Halloween range.

However, I was disappointed to see that they had not released any new fragrances, and had even taken away my favourite from this years range.
Last year I reviewed their Ghostly Treats candle, which you can check out in 2014's October Favourites and it is also included in my 2014 Halloween Decor post.
I absolutely loved this candle, and I was really hoping they were going to bring it back!

However, lucky for me, this scent is also known under another Yankee Candle name, Fireside Treats.

I absolute adore this scent, marshmallows and vanilla extract, it is a perfectly sweet fragrance, not sickly in the slightest. This to me is the perfect Autumn scent and reminds me of snuggling with a blanket by a fire pit, toasting marshmallows with friends and having a great time.

There are a couple of candle accessories from the Yankee Candle Halloween range that I really liked. This is the Black Cat Clinger, which simply hooks on to your jar candles by its paws and looks incredibly cute!

There are other accessories in the Halloween range, from more Black Cat products, to Spider Web candle holders, pumpkin, skull and monster votive holders.

You can purchase any of these products and their Halloween fragrances from many online retailers, such as the official UK Yankee Candle site, and most items should be available in your local Yankee Candle retail stores.

I am hoping to get my hands on the rest of the black cat range as I think they are incredibly cute and truly in the spirit of Halloween!

What do you think of Yankee Candle's 2015 Halloween Range?

Review | Yankee Candle Christmas Past Advent House | prettylittlewriter

Every year I always get a chocolate advent calendar, whether it be a cheap Poundland Disney Princess calendar, or a higher class Malteser calendar.

But this year I decided on something different, something I can enjoy a lot more than chocolate.

Burning candles is one of my favourite things, and Yankee Candle always seem to impress me with their huge variety of scents. So when I saw that they were bringing out a couple of Advent Calendars, I knew I had to get one.

This Christmas Past Advent House is quite possibly the cutest and most impressive advent calendar I've ever seen. It is incredibly festive and perfect for any candle lover like me.

With 23 windows containing 7 different festive scents, and the 24th containing a Christmas Eve Votive scent, it allows you to experience each different scent and see which one is your favourite.

The seven scents are;
Candy Cane Lane
  Christmas Garland
 Snowflake Cookie
Sugared Apple
 Christmas Cookie
 Christmas Memories
 Spiced Orange

The first scent I discovered on the 1st of December was Sugared Apple, and the only reason I know this is because of the colour, it is the only white tealight included. The scents are quite hard to figure out from smell alone.

Have any of you lovely people got an advent calendar you love?

I've been listening to Christmas songs a lot lately and I haven't been able to contain my excitement for the upcoming holiday!
So I decided to cave in and finally put most of my Christmas decorations up in my room and thought I'd share them with you all!

I have also now put up my Christmas tree, which makes my room feel much more festive!

October Favourites | prettylittlewriter

It's November 5th, so I thought it was about time I shared the products I have been loving throughout October!

1. Vera Wang Princess Power Perfume.
This perfume smells absolutely gorgeous. A gift given to me for being a bridesmaid at my Niece's wedding, this scent is very floral and flirty; perfect for those aspiring princesses or just very girly, girls!

2. Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub.
This has been my saviour lately, as the weather has gotten colder and my lips are paying the price. So I scrub my lips using this deliciously sweet stuff and add vaseline over the top. It has really helped get rid of my chapped and broken lips, leaving me with silky smooth ones!

3. Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Picnic in the Park.
I know I am very late when it comes to Tanya's Lipgloss range, however I bought this one and Aurora, and I have fallen slightly in love with this shade. A lovely pink nude, perfect for finishing off any make up look with a dash of sophistication!

4. Benefit Dandelion Brightening Face Powder.
Okay, so I am cheating here a little bit because this face powder is in my favourites every single month as I do not use any other blusher! This has been my go to for well over a year now, and I constantly repurchase it as I run out quite quickly! This blusher is my favourite as I have quite pale skin, and it just gives my cheeks that little pink glow that I need, and doesn't make me look like a clown!

5. Bourjois Delice De Poudre Bronzing Powder.
This has been my favourite bronzer lately as it gives me that healthy glow without making my face look dirty like a lot of bronzers can. Not to mention it is in a cute chocolate bar shape!

6. Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr in On and On Bronze.
This, by far, has been my favourite eye product lately. Constantly using it, it is a great shade that requires little effort to apply and just gives your everyday make up that little extra pop!

7. Halloween Yankee Candle in Ghostly Treats.
Now, of course, there has to be something relating to Halloween in my October favourites, and this candle definitely had to have the spot! This candle smells very much like Yankee's Fireside Treats; a very sweet and marshmallow type scent!

finally,
non beauty related is Taylor Swift's new album, 1989.
I absolutely love every single song on this album, and it has been my jam for the last few days of October, if you'd like to see specific favourites of mine, check out this blog post I posted a few days ago!

What are your October favourites? :)

October Wishlist | prettylittlewriter

Autumn is now upon us, and as a huge fan of this time of year, I wanted to share with you some of the items I will be purchasing for the colder months!

These first three items are available from ASOS

The first is a really cute pink fawn crop jumper. Fawns always remind me of the wintery months and Christmas, and I think it is adorable!
Next is a navy tartan scarf; I already have it's sister which is a bright red tartan, but I'd like this one too for a more subtle outfit.
The third is actually a Christmas jumper. They have it in navy here, however I think this red berry colour is much nicer for winter months and I love that it has it's own collar!

Now I'm sure by now you've noticed a theme (tartan anyone?), so yes I have a slight obsession with the Scottish favourite. The first item is from Ark, and with it being a dark tartan pattern it would go with plenty of things, such as the black blazer in the middle!
The blazer is from River Island, and I also already have the same one in grey, however this is easier to match to other items of clothing, the grey one only looks good with certain colours.
The third item here is also from River Island, a pair of navy tartan cigarette pants. These would also look great with the black blazer and a plain baggy t shirt.

And finally, something non-fashion related...

CANDLES.

Now I love candles enough as it is, but when it comes to Christmas time and the colder months, candles just help set the mood and create such a cosy atmosphere!
I always go for the Medium Jar with Yankee Candle, as I think the small jars are just too small and I find it difficult finding somewhere to put the large jars!

Now three of them are Christmas candles, Christmas Cookie, Snowflake Cookie and Christmas Eve, and they are all very sweet scented.

However I have also picked out a Halloween candle, Ghostly Treats. The scent is described as gooey toasted marshmallows that are a haunting reminder of sharing spooky tales around a Halloween bonfire.

Now Christmas Cookie is described as buttery rich, vanilla scented, holiday sugar cookies. To a lot of people that could be too sweet, but I much prefer sweet scents to the musky kind.

Snowflake Cookie is described as holiday cookies, deliciously decorated with sugary pink icing. It doesn't give an actual description of what it smells like, and I've yet to find out myself, but as it is a new addition to the Christmas collection, I have to try it!

Christmas Eve is described as Traditional Christmas scents of a warm hearth, sugared plums, and candied fruits. This I have experienced and I have to say it is absolutely lovely. Such a cosy and warm scent.

Are there any Autumn purchases you are hoping to make or have already made? :)
