Disney Merchandise | prettylittlewriter

With my trip to Florida rapidly approaching, one thing I am extremely excited for is purchasing A LOT of Disney merchandise.

I have been browsing both the Hot Topic and the Disney Store websites for some inspiration and ideas on what to purchase and I have spotted some AMAZING THINGS <3

Firstly I have seen some absolutely adorable decor items and accessories.

From left to right; Beauty and the beast iphone 4/4s case (Hot Topic), Mrs Potts and Chip salt and pepper pots (Hot Topic), Art of Aurora mug (Disneystore), P Sherman Bracelet (Hot Topic), Hamm Piggy Bank (Disneystore), Cogsworth Pop! Figurine (Hot Topic), Mrs Potts and Chip Pop! Figurine (Hot Topic), Beauty and the Beast Rose Pendant (Hot Topic) and Bambi Musical Snow Globe (Disneystore)

HOW CUTE ARE THE POP! Figurines?!

Next up are some clothing items!

From left to right; Olaf Tank Top, Never land Hat, Beauty and the Beast Pumps, Anna and Elsa Tank Top. (All items from Hot Topic)

I think the Never land hat is super cute and I would wear it a lot through the Autumn/Winter months, and those Beauty and the Beast pumps are the prettiest shoes ever.

Obviously I'm not going to be buying all of this, as they may not even have all the items in Hot Topic or the Disney stores, they are simply ideas for when I get there!

I also spotted this; I won't be purchasing it even if they have it in store, but I think it's a super cool idea (who doesn't want to be Ariel?!)

Ariel Bikini (Hot Topic)

And lastly are some adorable baby outfits! My Niece is pregnant and will soon be finding out the sex of her little jelly bean (before I go to Florida), therefore I will know which of these outfits (if they have them in store) I can buy for her!

Marie Bodysuit and Simba Onesie (Disneystore)

Personally out of both I prefer the Simba onesie (it's just SO CUTE!) but depending on what she is having I will only be buying one of them :)

So there you have it; the Disney merchandise I am currently adoring!

Have you seen any super cute Disney items? :)

5 ways to perk yourself up | prettylittlewriter

Ever had one of those days where you feel completely exhausted and useless and just want to curl up in bed and stay there?
I'm having one of those days right now.

However, I have figured out 5 tried and tested ways of waking myself up.

1. Eat breakfast. Whether it be a banana, porridge, toast or cereals, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. If you skip breakfast, you aren't giving your body enough energy to start the day. My go to is either a banana or cereals, both contain the vitamins you need to start moving.

2. Use something cooling on your eyes. On those days where you feel so tired that your eyes just don't want to be awake, apply a soothing gel such as Simple's Kind to Eyes Revitalising Eye Roll On to help calm the puffiness of your eyes and it will make them feel much more awake. If you don't have a soothing gel, there are a couple of household items you can use instead, such as sliced cucumber or ice cubes.

3. Exercise. Whether you go for a brisk walk outside, go jogging or simply do a few exercise moves at home, it gets your heart pumping blood around your body much faster which in turn wakes your entire body up.

4. Put make up on. I always find that even if I'm not planning on going out anywhere, if I pop some make up on, even if it's just some concealer and mascara, I feel much better about myself. I find that if I'm not wearing make up and my hair is a mess, then I just feel tired and do not want to do a thing. Applying make up and doing your hair, as any girl would know, makes you feel so much better about yourself. Therefore it will also have an anti-fatigue effect on you.

5. Get some fresh air. If you aren't planning on going anywhere and just want a lazy day in bed, then fair enough. But if you have things you want to be doing, even if it's just housework, get yourself outdoors. If you are inside a stuffy house all day your brain isn't getting the fresh oxygen it needs to function properly, and in turn you feel tired more easily. Even if you just pop outside for 5 minutes in the garden, you are giving your body that little extra help it needs to keep you awake.

Are there any tips you have for perking yourself up? :)

September pay day wishlist | prettylittlewriter

Another month has flown by, and next week is my monthly pay day from working hard at Primark. There are an awful lot of products I am wishing for at the moment, however with my trip to Florida on the horizon, I have to be particularly choosy with my spending.
So these are the items I am allowing myself to purchase when my bank account no longer contains cobwebs!

You may have seen the dress in the middle from my previous pay day wishlist, but due to unforeseen circumstances I ended up not purchasing it. This month I am determined to have it along with these two gorgeous midi skirts. The first is from ASOS and is such a lovely pink colour, and although I should be starting to purchase autumn/winter clothing, I just can't resist this little beauty. The third is actually from River Island, however is no longer available. I have found this product on Ebay from a seller I have previously purchased from and I think it is such a cute, retro kind of skirt which would look so pretty with a little black crop top and red heels!

This brings me on to the next item I am purchasing from ASOS which is actually for my trip to Florida.

I need a bag that will fit in my hand luggage bag and one that will go well with each and every one of the outfits I choose to wear whilst there. This bag is small enough and with it being black, it will go with absolutely anything. I love the croc print look and the studs around the bottom of the bag. Although I am buying this bag from ASOS, it is actually the River Island brand.

Now onto the beauty products I intend to purchase!

Firstly is the Sanctuary Spa 5min thermal detox mask. I have heard great things about this product so I wanted to try it out for myself. Sometimes I feel that cleansing isn't enough for my skin, so a detoxing mask may make more of a difference!
Next is the Chanel Illusion D'ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Diapason. I recently saw this eyeshadow shade used on the lovely Lucy Hale and it was such a nice pigmented shade, perfect for autumn/winter months.
I've also decided to try out the infamous Emma Hardie Amazing Face Cleansing Balm. Many beauty bloggers such as Zoella and Tanya Burr swear by this cleanser, and as a fan of trying out different cleansers, I believe this has to be something I try.
Lastly is the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Mont Blanc. This is also something I have heard major praise for through many different bloggers, and I want to try out many different foundations to see if I can find one that I would truly call my holy grail foundation.

So there you have it, my fashion and beauty future purchases!
I hope you enjoyed this post; are there any fashion or beauty products you are hoping to buy in the future? :)

Here is my video :)

Please don't forget to donate, that is the most important part! :)

Holiday make up essentials | prettylittlewriter

Apologies for the lack of posts in the past week, I've been super busy with work and haven't had the chance to upload anything!

It is just under two weeks until I go to the haven that is Disneyworld in Florida, so I thought I'd give you a little insight into the staple make up products that I will be taking with me!

Products:
Seventeen Eyeshadow Trio in Metallic Coffee (no longer available online)

My favourite item has got to be the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation. With medium coverage, it's not too heavy for the hot weather and with SPF 15, I don't have to worry about getting sunburn on my face!

Hope you enjoyed this post; what are your favourite make up items to take on holiday with you? :)

Baking a Birthday Cake | prettylittlewriter

Yesterday it was my lovely mummy's birthday! So I decided to bake her a cake :)

Firstly I'm going to show you what ingredients I used and how I made it.
I decided to bake a chocolate cake as myself and the rest of my family aren't big fans of other kinds of cake such as plain sponge and other fancy types.

Ingredients
Sainsbury's own Basics Sponge Mix
Cocoa Powder
Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge Icing
Free Range Eggs
Maltesers
Flakes (not in the image)

Instructions
1. Pour the sponge mix into a mixing bowl with the cocoa, 1 medium sized egg and 75ML of water (5 table spoons).
2. Mix for 3 minutes with an electric whisk or a kitchen aid (medium speed).
3. Pour mixture into a baking tin, ensuring the mixture is kept smooth.
4. Bake for 30 minutes on Gas Mark 6 (400DF, 200DC).
5. Leave the cake to cool for 5 minutes before removing from the baking tin and placing on a cooling rack. Leave for another 15-20 minutes before icing.
6. This is where your creativity comes in. You can decorate the cake however you like! I chose to place maltesers all around and in the middle and sprinkle with chocolate flakes :)

2. Mixture after whisking

3. When pouring the mixture into the baking tin, make sure to keep it as flat as you can otherwise the cake will be uneven when cooked.

Now when it came to decorating the cake, I wanted it to look nice but not too fancy, so I simply spread some of the chocolate fudge icing over the top of the cake and then placed the maltesers in a circle around the edges with one in the middle and then sprinkled some crumbled flakes over the top.

I hope you enjoyed this post; I thought I'd do something a little different :)
Any comments you have I would love to hear!

Home Decor with H&M | prettylittlewriter

I received my H&M order a couple of days ago so I thought I'd let you have a little look!

It came in a huge box as I ordered some rather large items, they were all well packaged and in pristine condition!

The first items I spotted on the website that were super cute are these adorable boxes! Fairytale-esque boxes which are meant to look like fairytale books, they are in 3 different sizes and each have something different on them.

I am such a girly girl and I thought they were super cute so I had to have them!

The other thing I bought were these adorable bookends!

I absolutely adore the Disney film Bambi, and they look just like Bambi and Thumper in a really pretty pastel pink colour!
I got two as you should always have bookends in couples!

I also purchased a present for my Mum from H&M with this order, however I don't want her to see it as her birthday isn't until the 19th of August, so I'm leaving that out :)

Have any of you bought any cute home items recently?

Holiday Playlist | prettylittlewriter

As a huge music lover, going on holiday just wouldn't be the same without an amazing playlist to go with it. So I thought I'd give you all a sneak peek into the playlist I have created for my holiday to Florida. I have a small Ipod Nano which I will be using instead of my Iphone (which is what I usually use; spotify).

So as you can see, there is a huge variety of artists and genres included, my main favourites are Country stars such as Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert, to Rap with Iggy Azalea. I absolutely adore country music and as I'm going to America (the home of country), I knew I had to include it in my playlist!

A couple of my favourite artists currently are Troye Sivan and Hilary Duff.
Troye has recently released his first EP (Trxye) and Hilary is making a comeback after years of time off from music!

My favourite song by these artists are Happy Little Pill (Troye) and All About You (Hilary).
All About You is a very summery and upbeat song which suits such a sunny place as Florida! And Happy Little Pill is quite edgy and different which is why I love it so much!

As I am going to Disneyworld, of course I have to have some Disney songs on my playlist!
I have songs from Frozen, Mulan, The Jungle Book and many more!

I hope you like this little sneak peek into my holiday playlist! It's getting so close now and I am getting incredibly excited!
Once I am over there, I am hoping to Vlog some of my experience for you all, so subscribe to my Youtube channel and look out for that! And I will also be doing some OOTD posts, however these will all come once I am back home as I won't be taking my laptop with me!

Thank you for reading!

Holiday Essentials | prettylittlewriter

I'm going to Florida in just under a month, so I'm slowly packing my case and making final purchases for my trip.
As I am limited in how heavy my suitcase can be, I have had to make some pretty hard decisions on what to take with me, especially when it comes to hair and face products.

As you can see I have my Minnie Mouse ears and sunglasses also included; I can't go to Disneyworld without some cute Disney ears! And sunglasses are vital when in the sunshine state, if you don't wear them it can damage your eyes and cause unwanted wrinkles later in life!

The Garnier Micellar Water will be taken in a small travel bottle to save on space and as it would be quite heavy if I took the whole bottle!
And I've included my GHD heat protection spray as it is the best product I have to protect against heat damage from stylers.

These are some small travel items I picked up from boots; Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner, Toni and Guy Sea Salt Spray, Soap and Glory Hand Maid Cleansing Gel and Mark Hill Protection Spray for on the go!

The sunscreen I have gone for is something I previously used on my last holiday, Riemann P20 Once a Day Sun Protection. SPF20 which will give me enough protection and a chance at perhaps getting a tan (Wishful thinking!), and it gives 10 hours worth of protection, even if you go swimming, so there's no need to re-apply every few hours.

Do you have any essentials you would take on holiday? :)

Review | Mac Lipsticks | prettylittlewriter

I received my Mac order this afternoon and I thought I'd show you how amazing they are!

I chose to purchase the colours Morange and Hang Up as I wanted to try a bright orange shade for summer and be prepared for Autumn/Winter with Hang Up. I originally said in this post that I would be purchasing Russian Red too, but as I've had to spend a lot of my wages on dollars for America, I thought I'd wait a while before purchasing that shade.

Mac Lipsticks are slowly becoming my absolute favourite and I know many other bloggers have given rave reviews about them. They also smell great (like cocoa) which makes applying them to the lips even more satisfying!
Morange is a well pigmented, slightly matte, bright coral shade and looks great for any summer make up look. Hang Up is a deep purple shade with a shine to it due to it being a cremesheen lipstick.

As you can see from the swatches, Morange is nowhere near as shiny as Hang Up, and Hang Up isn't as pigmented as Morange.

These are the shades on my lips, I love both of them so much and cannot wait to start wearing them!

As you can see, both shades give a completely different effect to your final make up look. Morange gives my make up a nice bright and summery feel to it, and Hang Up gives it a more vampy and wintery look!

Do you have any favourite Mac lipstick shades? :)
