July Favourites | prettylittlewriter

That's it, July is over (um, what?). Another month gone, another month closer to heading back to University to start my third and final year.
It's scary to think that this time next year I will have graduated (assuming I actually pass!).

But for now, instead of panicking over what is yet to come, I thought I'd share with you my favourite products from July.
These products were all purchased and tried throughout July, and some of them you will have seen from some of my previous blog posts!

Two of my absolute favourites have become the Rimmel Stay Matte Face Powder and Natural Bronzer. Before I bought these, I'd never thought I'd needed them, but now I have them and have used them a fair few times, I've realised that I've definitely needed them all along!

The Stay Matte Face Powder I apply to my forehead, nose and chin after foundation to cover any unwanted shine which makes my skin look greasy. From the second I apply it the greasiness has vanished, leaving a lovely soft finish!

The Natural Bronzer blends into my skin well and gives my finished look a lovely glow! I was quite nervous about using bronzer to begin with as I have very pale skin and I assumed I'd end up looking like an oompa loompa! But luckily for me, this product isn't too dark and just leaves me looking naturally tanned.

Another Rimmel product I have been loving is the Wake Me Up Foundation. Recommended by the lovely Zoella in many of her blog posts and videos, this foundation is medium coverage with a dewy effect. Leaving skin looking naturally glowing, it also covers any blemishes you may have (including spots!) even without applying any concealer.

As mentioned in a couple of previous posts, I've also been loving the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser and the Liz Earle Nail Strengthening Colour in Awakening. Since I've gone into more detail on these products in a previous post, I will leave a link here if you wish to know more about them!

The small green tube you can see is the Simple Kind to Eyes Revitalising Eye Roll On. This has become my saviour these past few weeks as I've been working round the clock both at Primark and on an assignment for University. All this leaves me feeling drained, and if I don't manage to get a good night's sleep for whatever reason, my eyes are the main place the tiredness hits.
I apply this product after cleansing my face first thing in the morning; the main area of focus are the dark circles, but I sometimes also apply to the eyelids when my eyes are extremely puffy.
After around 10 minutes, my eyes feel much more awake and less puffy. This also makes me feel less tired in myself, not just my eyes.

Another product I have been loving is the Garnier Ultimate Blends Marvellous Glow Oil. I have also previously mentioned this product, but not gone into much detail! I usually apply this product both before and after styling my hair; before to protect from heat damage, and after to give my hair that silky soft touch. I wouldn't say it makes my hair any shinier than usual (too much shine makes it look greasy anyway), however I do usually focus on the tips of my hair when applying to mask the split ends!

Now, I never thought I'd get excited about a deodorant, but this one is certainly special! The Mitchum Advanced Women 48 Hour Protection Anti-perspirant and deodorant (that's a mouthful!) leaves me feeling fresh and safe from sweat patches and body odour with it's powerful spraying technique. You only really need one, 2 second squirt under each arm and you're good to go! I'm currently using the shower fresh one, which is supposed to leave you with that freshly washed feeling! I'm not particularly a smelly person (that's what I think anyway!) as I take care of myself, however, a good deodorant such as this makes me feel much more secure knowing I have something special working against any bacteria and stinky odours.

And finally, the VO5 High Volume Weather Resistant Hairspray. I used to use the Tresemme Salon Firm Finish Hold Hairspray, and I had my huge tin for around two years before needing a new one! However, after using this product, I will never go back to the Tresemme one as this one is much softer on your hair!
It doesn't leave your hair feeling crispy like a lot of hairspray's do, and it keeps your fly-aways in check. The smell is a little overpowering at first, but that is the only flaw in this product!
It brushes out incredibly easy and leaves your hair feeling soft to touch.
