December Cosmetic Purchases | prettylittlewriter

Between buying gifts for friends and family, and pigging out of tons of food, December is a pretty bad month for spending money.

Impressively, I managed not to overspend this year and even had enough spare cash to purchase a few little make up treats for myself.

This little beauty gives your brows that much needed lift with a simple line of highlighter under the brows on the brow bone. The other side of the pen is the shade (dark brown) that gives your brows much more definition with only tiny strokes of the pen.

This brilliant mascara leaves your lashes looking super long and curled, high definition but with a natural final look.

This gorgeous bronzing powder comes in absolutely fabulous packaging. It includes a fancy looking brush with a gold handle and the powder comes in a cute little brown case.
A hefty price tag, but for such an amazing product it is truly worth it.

What make up/cosmetics purchases have you made recently?

Current Beauty Staples | prettylittlewriter

For today's blog post I thought I'd show you all the every day make up I currently use!

I definitely wear more than I used to, but it still remains as a completely natural look! It also takes me a lot longer to apply than it used to, I now need around 40 minutes to complete my look, when before it was only 20 minutes!

Products:

The Seventeen trio eyeshadows gives a natural smoky eye look without being overly dramatic, and the Topshop lipstick in Charmed gives a pop of colour for lovely summer days!
As you can see my Real Techniques brushes get some serious use and could do with a wash (hehe).
The Simple Revitalising Eye Roll-On is a great wake me up for my eyes first thing in the morning. I used to sit with cucumber on my eyes for a few minutes, but I found this product and decided to give it a go. It gives pretty much the same results as the cucumber did; my eyes feel much brighter and more awake!

Product Review | Charlotte Tilbury Mascara | prettylittlewriter

Today I received my order of the Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes Mascara from Selfridges.

I had work today so I thought I'd try it out instead of using my usual Benefit They're Real Mascara.
It boasts to being the perfect 5 in 1 mascara creating full fat lashes through curl, separation, volume, length, and drama.

These were the results!

I was really happy with the way it worked as my lashes had much more curl to them and a lot more definition. The brush has proper bristles rather than it being a plastic brush like the Benefit mascara, which I like a lot as it's not as harsh on your lashes and it helps the mascara go on a lot more easily. The solution left no residue or lumps on the lashes and separated most lashes with ease and left them looking fuller and longer.

Overall a brilliant product and I would definitely recommend it! It's a little on the pricey side, at £22 it isn't like the high street brands, but it is definitely worth paying that little bit extra!

Hope you enjoyed!

Spring/Summer Make up look | prettylittlewriter

So today it was a beautiful summer day and I decided to go shopping with my Momma, and this is my summer make up look for the day :)

I chose to go for orange lips as it is a great summer shade and brightens up any basic make up look :)

Online Shopping | prettylittlewriter

Pay day arrived for me today, and to celebrate I have done some cheeky online shopping!

The first thing I knew I had to purchase was the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. I have heard many good things from both friends and other online bloggers about this product, so I decided I had to try it for myself!

The product description says it quickly removes daily grime and make up to leave skin clean, soft and radiant.

As I wear make up almost every day for work, something that works fast in removing it when I get home from an exhausting day is something I am very interested in! If you order the 100ml/200ml starter kit, you get two muslin cloths to use with the cleanser. http://uk.lizearle.com/

I currently use the ProActiv 3 Step System, all in all a great skincare regime for those of you that have plenty of time to focus on caring for your skin, but I found that the toner ran out a lot faster than the cleanser and the moisturiser, which means I had to purchase a different toner just so I could continue with the routine!

I replaced it with the Garnier Refreshing Toner, which does make my skin feel refreshed and awake, however using it with the ProActiv products has left my face with slight dry patches. Therefore I needed something new to use as the combination I am using now isn't right for my skin type.

The next couple of items I purchased aren't skincare related, and were purchased from http://www.exhibitshops.com/
This vogue purse was something I've been wanting for a long time, and since my current purse is slowly falling apart, I thought it was time to purchase a new one. I was searching for a brand called Vera and Lucy when I stumbled across the Exhibit website, and when I spotted this I knew I had to have it! It only costs £6 too, which is a bargain to me!

The next item was purchased from Selfridges and Co.

This mascara is a product I discovered from the lovely Zoella (who I mentioned in my previous blog post). It is the Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes Mascara. It claims to have everything you need for amazing lashes; curl, separation, volume, length, and drama. I have been using the Benefit They're Real mascara, which is great for volume and drama, however, my eyelashes never seem to curl well, whether that be because I am using a cheap eyelash curler or my eyelashes are naturally straight. I thought I'd give this product a try and see if it will improve my lashes.

The next item is one of my favourite films and something I have longed to have on DVD but never got around to buying it. I have always been a sucker for a romantic film or novel, and Romeo and Juliet is the epitome of romance. It is also one of the saddest movies, along with Titantic, which also includes the lovely Leonardo DiCaprio. I purchased my copy from Amazon :)

The last site I visited was ASOS, and as I am going to Florida's Disney World very soon (58 days!!) I thought these would be a great accessory for my time there! I just thought these ears were really cute and would be a fabulous thing to wear as I am wandering around Disney World!

So that's it for my online spending spree today, look out for a mini haul from Primark and Boots coming next! :)

ProActiv 3 Step System and Garnier Refreshing Toner can be purchased from Boots.com
