Make Up Look | Peach Eyes & Pink Lip | prettylittlewriter

For a recent interview (which I ended up being offered the job!) I chose a make up look which I suited my skin tone perfectly but kept that summery feel to it. 

Normally when trying out summer make up looks, it just fades in to my pale skin and I look washed out. 
However, this time, using Urban Decay's Naked 3 Palette in the shades Burnout & Trick, and Tanya Burr's Picnic in the Park lipgloss, the pink and peachy tones complimented my natural colour. I applied the shade Burnout all over my eyelids and then proceeded to apply Trick in the creases and corners of my eyes. 

For the rest of my make up, I used Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in Ivory and Porcelain, Collection's Lasting Perfection Concealer, Rimmel's Stay Matte Powder in Transparent, Guerlain's Terracotta Bronzing Powder, Mac's So Sweet So Easy Creme Blush, Benefit's Roller Lash & HD Brow's Brow Palette in Vamp. 





I really liked this look and will definitely be trying it out again!

Make Up Look | Dark Eyes & Nude Lip | prettylittlewriter

A lot of the time I stick to a very similar make up look, natural tones with golden shimmers and a pink or red lip. However, recently I decided I wanted to try something a little different and more daring. 

So I chose to embrace my inner Avril Lavigne and create dark, sultry eyes.





To create this look I used my go-to concealer and foundation, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair and Cool Medium & Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in Ivory.

To create the dark smoky eyes, I used Urban Decay's Naked Palette and the shades Gunmetal & Creep. I started by applying Gunmetal all over my lids, then I shaded in the creases of my eyelids and my lower & upper lash lines with Creep. I finally blended a little bit of the shade Virgin to the inner corner of my eye and just under my brow to give my eyes a little bit of shine to them.

For the nude lip, I used Mac's Velvet Teddy. This is my go-to nude lipstick, I think it suits my skin tone well and I love the matte finish.

I was quite impressed with the finished results, I was a little worried that it would be too much next to my pale skin, however I really liked the look and would definitely try it again.

Mini Beauty Haul | prettylittlewriter

As I am moving down south pretty soon, I am trying my hardest to save my pennies until I can find a job there.

So rather than spending all of my wages on pay day, I allowed myself a certain budget, and with that budget, I had a mini beauty spree and purchased the goodies below.



An all in one skin perfecter. 12 hour shine control, reduces the appearance of pores, hides blemishes and helps improve make up staying power.


As seen in Youtuber Zoella's April Favourites video, this mask promises bouncier and fresher looking skin by using Edelweiss stem cells.


Promises flawless make up for up to 16 hours, apply this spray and there is no need to worry about your make up melting off or smudging. 

I have a wedding to attend in a week's time, so I wanted to get something to help improve my make up's staying power so I don't have to worry about touching it up throughout the day.

I can't wait to try out each of these products, I have heard brilliant things about each of them! Have you tried any of these products? If so, I would love to hear what you think about them!

Review | Naked Palette by Urban Decay | prettylittlewriter

Now, I know I am incredibly late reviewing this product, however I am completely obsessed with it and just had to share with you all what my thoughts are!

I have heard a lot of good reviews on this product, and the Naked 2 and Naked 3 palettes, and I thought I'd get them in the order they were released, so I received this as a Christmas present last year.






I have used every single shade and can honestly say they are all very impressive. My favourites to use on a daily basis are Sidecar, Half Baked, Toasted, Smog and Hustle.




For a natural smoky eye I usually use a combination of Sidecar and Hustle or Half Baked and Hustle, but if I want a more daring smoky eye I use Gunmetal and Creep.

 There are 3 completely matte shades and the rest have either a slight shimmer or a complete shimmer, and those I love the most are the complete shimmer shades.

I have yet still to purchase the Naked 2 and Naked 3 palettes, but I am hoping to complete the collection very soon!

Valentine's Day Make Up | prettylittlewriter


February 14th is only two days away, and I am actually celebrating Valentine's Day for the first time in years with my special someone.

So I thought I'd share with you the make up I plan on wearing on the day/evening. 
If you don't have a special someone, and are spending time with friends, this look is perfect for that too as it is simple and easy to do.

December Cosmetic Purchases | prettylittlewriter

Between buying gifts for friends and family, and pigging out of tons of food, December is a pretty bad month for spending money.

Impressively, I managed not to overspend this year and even had enough spare cash to purchase a few little make up treats for myself.



1. Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Brow Lift Duo.
This little beauty gives your brows that much needed lift with a simple line of highlighter under the brows on the brow bone. The other side of the pen is the shade (dark brown) that gives your brows much more definition with only tiny strokes of the pen.



2. Urban Decay Supercurl Curling Mascara.
This brilliant mascara leaves your lashes looking super long and curled, high definition but with a natural final look.






3. Guerlain Terracotta Moisturising Bronzing Powder.
This gorgeous bronzing powder comes in absolutely fabulous packaging. It includes a fancy looking brush with a gold handle and the powder comes in a cute little brown case.
A hefty price tag, but for such an amazing product it is truly worth it.
