Bronze Eye and Pink Lip | prettylittlewriter

The past few months I have been using mostly High-end make up products for my skin and eye make up, however, on this occasion I decided to try and stick to high-street (drug store) brands, and I created a look which I really liked.

The highlight of the look was the eyeshadow, I used Maybelline's Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze.

To get this highly pigmented shade, I applied the cream eyeshadow with a Real Techniques eyeshadow brush a few times, allowing each coat to dry a little before adding the next one.
This created a really gorgeous bronze/gold shimmery shade, which blended into my brow bone nicely so it looked quite natural and not too harsh.

The rest of the make up used for this look was;
- Rimmel Match Perfection in the shades Ivory and Light Porcelain (I mixed the two together to match my skin tone)
- Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair and Cool Medium (Fair for brightening under the eyes, Cool Medium for blemishes)
- Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent
- Mac So Sweet So Easy Cremeblend Blush (Not high street I know, but it's my staple blush right now!)
- HD Brows Brow Palette in 003 Vamp (Also not high street!)

I'm sure there are plenty of different high street options to replace the Mac Blush and HD Brows palette, Benefit's Dandelion Powder is another favourite of mine.

This has to be one of my favourite make up looks so far, and it is great knowing I do not have to break the bank to create it!

What are your favourite high street products?

Review | Benefit Total Moisture Facial Cream | prettylittlewriter

One beauty product I struggle to find that agrees with my overly sensitive skin is moisturiser.
I have tried many different brands, some high street/drug store, and some high end brands. However, nothing has worked better on my dry skin than Benefit's Total Moisture Facial Cream.

As you can see, I have used the product a lot and there isn't much left, however it has lasted for well over a year now. That's because you only need the tiniest amount to moisturise your entire face. A pea-sized amount you might say.
This moisturiser soaks into your skin easily and doesn't leave your face feeling hard, sticky or greasy.

At a price of £28.50, it doesn't come cheap. But for a product that works wonders on dry skin, I would definitely recommend it.

October Favourites | prettylittlewriter

It's November 5th, so I thought it was about time I shared the products I have been loving throughout October!

1. Vera Wang Princess Power Perfume.
This perfume smells absolutely gorgeous. A gift given to me for being a bridesmaid at my Niece's wedding, this scent is very floral and flirty; perfect for those aspiring princesses or just very girly, girls!

2. Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub.
This has been my saviour lately, as the weather has gotten colder and my lips are paying the price. So I scrub my lips using this deliciously sweet stuff and add vaseline over the top. It has really helped get rid of my chapped and broken lips, leaving me with silky smooth ones!

3. Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Picnic in the Park.
I know I am very late when it comes to Tanya's Lipgloss range, however I bought this one and Aurora, and I have fallen slightly in love with this shade. A lovely pink nude, perfect for finishing off any make up look with a dash of sophistication!

4. Benefit Dandelion Brightening Face Powder.
Okay, so I am cheating here a little bit because this face powder is in my favourites every single month as I do not use any other blusher! This has been my go to for well over a year now, and I constantly repurchase it as I run out quite quickly! This blusher is my favourite as I have quite pale skin, and it just gives my cheeks that little pink glow that I need, and doesn't make me look like a clown!

5. Bourjois Delice De Poudre Bronzing Powder.
This has been my favourite bronzer lately as it gives me that healthy glow without making my face look dirty like a lot of bronzers can. Not to mention it is in a cute chocolate bar shape!

6. Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr in On and On Bronze.
This, by far, has been my favourite eye product lately. Constantly using it, it is a great shade that requires little effort to apply and just gives your everyday make up that little extra pop!

7. Halloween Yankee Candle in Ghostly Treats.
Now, of course, there has to be something relating to Halloween in my October favourites, and this candle definitely had to have the spot! This candle smells very much like Yankee's Fireside Treats; a very sweet and marshmallow type scent!

finally,
non beauty related is Taylor Swift's new album, 1989.
I absolutely love every single song on this album, and it has been my jam for the last few days of October, if you'd like to see specific favourites of mine, check out this blog post I posted a few days ago!

What are your October favourites? :)

Holiday make up essentials | prettylittlewriter

Apologies for the lack of posts in the past week, I've been super busy with work and haven't had the chance to upload anything!

It is just under two weeks until I go to the haven that is Disneyworld in Florida, so I thought I'd give you a little insight into the staple make up products that I will be taking with me!

Products:
Seventeen Eyeshadow Trio in Metallic Coffee (no longer available online)

My favourite item has got to be the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation. With medium coverage, it's not too heavy for the hot weather and with SPF 15, I don't have to worry about getting sunburn on my face!

Hope you enjoyed this post; what are your favourite make up items to take on holiday with you? :)

Vampy Make Up Look | prettylittlewriter

For today's blog post I thought I'd show you one of the many make up looks I go for when I go to work!

Because I have to wear all black and it looks so boring, I like to brighten up my look on days when I'm feeling quite happy.

I also hate how I have to have my hair up all the time, so having my make up stand out makes me feel a lot more confident!

For my eye area, I used Benefit's Gimme Brow in Dark, Seventeen's Trio Eyeshadow in Metallic Coffee and Charlotte Tilbury's Full Fat Lashes Mascara.

For my lips I used Maybelline's Color Sensational Lipstick in Pleasure Me Red.

So that is one of the many make up looks I go for when attending work! Hope you enjoyed this post, would love to hear from you in the comments! :)
