My Love For October | prettylittlewriter

My favourite month of the entire year has finally arrived!
October to me, is the month I look forward to the most for many reasons.

I thought I'd give you guys a little taste of why I love it so much!

1. The transformation of leaves on trees.
I think the colours that Autumn brings to the leaves are absolutely stunning, it makes going on walks or driving through the countryside so much more beautiful.

2. Pumpkins
I love the appearance of pumpkins, whether that be your standard size or the cute little munchkin ones. I just think they are stunning in their shape, the stalks and overall appearance! And you know it is nearly time for Halloween when they start appearing in supermarkets!

3. Autumn Decor
This time of year for me, is the beginning of decorating your home for the change of seasons. Spring and summer do not really have anything specifically seasonal to add to your home, however, Autumn allows you to decorate with pumpkins, leaves, candles, and anything orange, red and yellow, with a splash of tartan.

4. Getting cosy by the fire
One of the best things about the colder months is being able to wrap up warm in some amazing seasonal clothes, and I especially love being able to wear cosy socks and jumpers and sitting in front of the fire with a nice hot cup of cocoa and a book.

5. Cosy Autumn Blankets
Let's not forget being able to change your duvet up to a higher tog, and adding autumnal blankets to your home decor. I love the colours of the blankets above, and I especially love anything tartan.

6. Candles
And let's not forget the best part about the Autumn/Winter months, bringing out the cosy candles! I love candles at this time of year as they just set such a gorgeous atmosphere, not to mention the delicious scents that come out around Autumn and Winter.

So those are just a few reasons why I love Autumn and October so much.

Autumn Candle Haul | prettylittlewriter

I am a huge fan of candles, especially when the Autumn and Winter months begin.
There is nothing more cosy and romantic than wrapping up with a hot drink in a blanket surrounded by glowing candles.
Not to mention when they smell absolutely amazing.

As you can see, I have picked up a couple more of the Black Cat range from Yankee Candle, the Wax Tart Melter and the Medium and Large Jar Holder. They are absolutely adorable, and perfect for Autumn, leading in to Halloween.

I also picked up this Halloween Candle from a shop called Home Bargains, and it really was a bargain at £2.99. It smells amazing, very sweet and almost good enough to eat!

Then I picked up one of Yankee Candle's new scents, Cosy by the fire. This smells amazing; ginger, clove and orange give it that gorgeous woody scent to create the cosy setting of relaxing by a fire with a hot drink.

The Black Cat Wax Tart Melter came with a complimentary tart, which in my case, was the Candy Corn scent. I was not a fan of this scent to begin with, however it has begun to grow on me since using the melter. However, you do have to provide your own tea lights for the bottom of the melter, I went to Poundland and bought some orange Halloween ones.

So they are my recent candle purchases, and I cannot wait to start burning them throughout the next few months!

I added Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon because he is the 'spookiest' soft toy I have :)

October Wishlist | prettylittlewriter

Autumn is now upon us, and as a huge fan of this time of year, I wanted to share with you some of the items I will be purchasing for the colder months!

These first three items are available from ASOS

The first is a really cute pink fawn crop jumper. Fawns always remind me of the wintery months and Christmas, and I think it is adorable!
Next is a navy tartan scarf; I already have it's sister which is a bright red tartan, but I'd like this one too for a more subtle outfit.
The third is actually a Christmas jumper. They have it in navy here, however I think this red berry colour is much nicer for winter months and I love that it has it's own collar!

Now I'm sure by now you've noticed a theme (tartan anyone?), so yes I have a slight obsession with the Scottish favourite. The first item is from Ark, and with it being a dark tartan pattern it would go with plenty of things, such as the black blazer in the middle!
The blazer is from River Island, and I also already have the same one in grey, however this is easier to match to other items of clothing, the grey one only looks good with certain colours.
The third item here is also from River Island, a pair of navy tartan cigarette pants. These would also look great with the black blazer and a plain baggy t shirt.

And finally, something non-fashion related...

CANDLES.

Now I love candles enough as it is, but when it comes to Christmas time and the colder months, candles just help set the mood and create such a cosy atmosphere!
I always go for the Medium Jar with Yankee Candle, as I think the small jars are just too small and I find it difficult finding somewhere to put the large jars!

Now three of them are Christmas candles, Christmas Cookie, Snowflake Cookie and Christmas Eve, and they are all very sweet scented.

However I have also picked out a Halloween candle, Ghostly Treats. The scent is described as gooey toasted marshmallows that are a haunting reminder of sharing spooky tales around a Halloween bonfire.

Now Christmas Cookie is described as buttery rich, vanilla scented, holiday sugar cookies. To a lot of people that could be too sweet, but I much prefer sweet scents to the musky kind.

Snowflake Cookie is described as holiday cookies, deliciously decorated with sugary pink icing. It doesn't give an actual description of what it smells like, and I've yet to find out myself, but as it is a new addition to the Christmas collection, I have to try it!

Christmas Eve is described as Traditional Christmas scents of a warm hearth, sugared plums, and candied fruits. This I have experienced and I have to say it is absolutely lovely. Such a cosy and warm scent.

Are there any Autumn purchases you are hoping to make or have already made? :)
